Did you see the episode? Of course you did!! Jinpachiiiii!! Maki-channn!!!!! : D but you don’t like it when he called him Jinpachi right? It is at episode 29 right now. There are only 10 episodes of it left, you think it finish the inter high or we get another season?? I think theres too much to squeeze it all in!!
I really like Baby Steps and Haikyuu! Haikyuu’s episode is really great when Hinata finally got it! I ❤ it!! Baby steps, Ei-chan finally got his return : D now off to his first match!! I can't wait!

My prediction is either to the end of the first day or end of the 2nd day (but even end of the 2nd day seems too hard to fit in…because we need at 2-3 more episodes for the aces’ battle and then maybe one for in between days but that only leaves 6-7 for the 2nd day…..hmmmmm…I guess if in between days was just part of an episode they might get through day 2, but I don’t see day 3 happening yet…) They’d better give us a 2nd season!!!!!

Ahaha yea! It is shorter! The ending clip where he called and he wouldn’t pick up! Omg! During the episode, I was like wow, Jinpachi is like confessing his love or something, it was like a romantic moment due to the words he said and all that. I would have thought so if I didn’t know any better lol.
Right? The ace battle itself is very long. You still got to see Mido (ugh) come in then the other two helpers are going to be there for a bit, so there has to be 2-3 more episodes for the ace, I feel like they will end before the 2nd day, they like to do one to a moment, the sprint took a few episodes, the climb was one but that was shorter than the sprint, the ace was longer so that had to be a few and they have to show the scene after the 1st day, where toudou talks to jinpachi, tako gets his special reward, the green zekken, and then get sick, they have to have more!
i know right? Both are great! Hinaa is awesome, I really want to see the Neko team! They were my favorite other team besides the main!

I like Fukuroudani too, but they appear really later in the series though. I don’t know if it will get that far, it seems like it would stop at the end of the battle with that prince like guy Oikawa! : D Baby steps seem like it would end after Nabae the second time and beyond that a little.

Yeah, I really doubt it since Haikyuu is set for 25 episodes…they may do a 2nd season but I feel like that would be a ways off…you’re probably right, the battle with Oikawa seems like a good place to end XD

Well, the first time he fought Nabae was before he went to America, the second time he fought him, it was way pass when he went to America. He had the Kanagawa Cup, where he fought Miyagawa and then Araya. Then it is the All Japan Junior against Ide, and Takagi, then finally Nabae. He had other battles but they were the minors ones ahaha. Yea, it is a lot to remember! I reread it often >.> ahaha all three of these series : D
Yea, one of the main posters for Haikyuu had Oikawa as the main guy and they did not show the second manager, Hitoka so I figured it would stop there. I hope they do! if it does well, they probably will but there is not a lot after that yet, so they would have to wait for more of the manga!

Ahhh ok! I’ve only read Baby Steps once so far (Haikyuu only twice, Yowa at least 3 times >.>). Of course, I only got into Baby Stepa at the end of last year (I was really happy/surprised when I first heard it was getting an anime XD)
Yeah, I’m actually surprised they started the anime despite the manga still not being that long yet (only barely over 100 chapters) but I’m not complaining XD

There were also a few you mentioned in previous page and… I read none of them~~ ha ha! They are not for me, my friend~. 😛 So yowamushi pedal is sort of aberrance for me.
The one I did read was called “Slam Dunk”. It’s supposedly one of the best sports manga ever (in Japan, of course), if not the best ever, but I suppose you haven’t read it, huh? Not your cup of tea? If you haven’t, I suggest you try. The first 10 volumes or so are pretty rough and dated (drawing-wise), but it gets more modern-looking soon enough. Well it’s old stuff (early 90s). The anime version was terrible, but the manga was still best sports manga I’ve read. But no one talks or knows about it these days, I suppose~~.

Yea, the manga itself is only 100 chapters so far, in both translated and in raws I believe, but I’m not complaining either! Babysteps has close to 300 out ahaha

Is there no way to get some help with the translation from a scanlation group out there somehow? I would really love for this manga to be translated more quickly, and your translations are pretty good.
Right now I’m baffled by how good this manga is yet how no one, apart from you, seems to want to translate it.
Lol the translation’s not the problem. Nobody seems to believe me when I say it takes the least amount of time XD (as a matter of fact, I’m nearly finished translating v23–and have been this far for at least a week. Haven’t had the time to work on it more, but the next free moment I get……). Anyway, I am getting help with the other stuff though. I personally found redrawing to take the most time when I was working on everything myself so I’m assuming that’s what takes the longest (I’m just glad I’m not the one redrawing anymore because it takes me forever and isn’t that good XD)

I figure the aces’ battle at two episodes (30-31) with the results left as a cliffhanger into a third (32). Episode 32 could easily encompass the end of the first day, Tadokoro’s problems and the visit from Onoda’s mother. This would leave ep. 33 to start off the second day. Since the end of the season is supposed to be with ep. 38, this probably means we’ll be left with a cliffhanger somewhere in the middle of day 2.
As long as they get to the Onoda/Tadokoro duet I’ll be happy, though I’m hoping we see the end of the current sprint battle.
By my calculation, the end of Yowapeda season one will be about the same time the second season of Sword Art Online (Gun Gale/Phantom Bullet) starts. Who knows, maybe it’ll be in the same time slot. That might mean the second season of Yowapeda may kick off at the end of Sword Art, or shortly afterward.
Actually, Dragon, I thought you did a fantastic job on your own. I can’t read or speak Japanese, but I think your translations are very good. They’re certainly make much more sense and are easier to follow than many others I’ve seen. The notations are also interesting as they show how many different interpretations you could’ve made from the dialogue. Like everyone else, I’m looking forward to the next installment.
Though, I guess having Onoda and Tadokoro catch up to the team is going to have to be enough. My hope of the current two way battle becoming a three way one will probably remain my personal pipe dream. No one on the team has the strength left for it. Here’s hoping once all six are together they can recover enough to take the next checkpoint.
Hmmm but would they really cut off in the middle of one of the days? Episode-wise I think that makes sense (I’ve been saying end at day 1 or cram in day 2 because stopping in the middle just seems awkward…) Generally speaking, I feel like sports anime seasons tend to end after a “battle” and while each stage of the race could be considered that, it still seems weird…

Hey y’all, I will tell you what probably will happen with the anime. They will put in original anime arc! They will put in some fillers before the last episode ending with 2nd day starting. Done and done.
That has almost always been the route the anime staff takes when they have to extra 3-4 episodes on their hands. The remaining 1st day + rest have enough materials to cover 4-5 episodes.
I don’t see how nobody sees this~~! What’s all these speculation of condensing 2nd day or cutting out in the middle?? LOL C’mon~~ You know I’m right.
Hmmm…I’d considered fillers, but I didn’t think they would…..though actually, I could see them going into some of the bonuses, like the spare bike chapters or something…

Well, it depends on the anime, but Yowa’s been generally fast-paced. Maybe it just seemed that way to me…
I don’t think it’s likely that it will finish considering how many episodes there are left, but I think there will be a season 2… I haven’t actually seen any numbers, but I got the impression that the blu-ray/dvds are selling well in Japan (and the manga’s popular) so if that’s true, then we’ll get a 2nd season. I hope XD

Actually Sukikatte is doing (or is it ‘was doing’? Don’t know if the scanlator quit or still continues) the scanslation before this. Personally I like and download both releases for comparison and completion purposes. It’s interesting to know how different people translate the same text differently. It really shows what kind of writing background each translator has and where they come from. What kind of accent, styles etc. It’s endlessly fascinating to me haha I’m weird.
Oh and Azraelth, I believe you when you say the translation part is the easiest part. I know. I’ve read the raws up till the latest volume and now I’m hopping on my seat just thinking about volume 33. Hahaha I wish it comes sooner T_T But it’s no good to rush the author. Good stuff never comes from anything rushed 🙂

Well, I that’s just my supposition XD it could be that I was so bad at it (I was, really XD) that I’ve just got a skewed perception of redrawing. But they seem to be ok with it, though I’ll ask them if they want help!

@Azraelth: You must be someone who started reading online scanlations recently. Old school scanslations used to do this a lot in order to make files smaller so that sending them using IRC would take less time. Slower internet and what not. Now with faster internet, they could afford to use pictures as notes so it’s rare to see newer scanlations to have text file notes. I remember Jojo, Berserk etc in the early days having text notes.
I don’t keep up with weekly scans of Yowapeda. My heart can’t take it, the excitement and suspense. Small, weekly doses’ of Yowapeda wouldn’t satisfy me at all. I need one big shot 🙂

IT’S HERE! I got the latest volume (33) in the this morning and I devoured the whole thing. I read and re-read it and I have to say, “KOGA-SAAAAAN” Yeah! Damn Stamina Freak is in the house!. And Kaburagi is so damn cute. Argghh waiting for volume 34 is going to be excruciating…
Also, Onoda is sooo adorable too. That is all.

I was laughing so hard the scene where Onoda was telling the rest of the crew about Koga and how, right at the juiciest part, segues into a talk about how their glasses kept misting up and ways to stop it.
I bet Koga did a deflection when both him and Onoda were talking about his past, not really wanting to talk about it, and Onoda, enthusiastically jumped in not knowing that it was a deflection.

I am going through a phase right now where I am obsessing over sports manga (not the sports type myself but love the manga) and I came across this one just recently and… (squee!!!) It seemed to fly by too fast, I really am glad you post up the whole the volume in one go I would have gone a little bit more crazy otherwise. I’m just glad that I can still get my dose of Yowamushi and you’re an awesome person for doing this.

I think the anime should keep Midousuji a mistery as far as they can, I can take the other characters origins, maybe the manga get there in some moment, but Midousuji is so elemental to the success of the series that spoiling that “gotcha!” moment would be fatal

Do people recommend reading the raws to see what’s going on or do most people wait for the translations? I can’t believe that the interhigh goes till vol 27 and I don’t think I can wait a year or so to find out what happens. XD
Judging by comments I’ve had in the past, some people read the raws, some people wait XD
It does go on ’til v27, and while maybe I’m not the right person to say this (since I’m the translator >_>), I know I couldn’t put it down until I caught up to the weekly releases (must. know. what. happens. next.)
If you can understand Japanese and know where to buy the books or download the raws then go ahead and read the raws. Just remember that, with reading the raws, the pool of people you can share your knowledge and talk about how awesome stuff that happens that hasn’t been translated yet becomes really small. Thankfully, I can post here a bit and squeal and gush over how cute Kaburagi is, how adorable Onoda is and how funny the current volume is etc. with Azraelth.
Also, reading the raws is great practice if you’re learning Japanese and it’s a lot of fun. I recommend buying the books. Makes a great display piece and you support the author.
My Japanese is so bad; I’ve forgotten most of what I ever learned. But I bought vol 17 on saturday in Japanese. Unfortunately, I got spoiled for the ending of the first inter-high so I’m kinda bummed out now. The suspense is now gone and that was so important for me because it made it way more fun. ahhhhhhhh…..
I second that lol. Trying not to spoil things for others is tough XD (and there are some reaaaaaaally awesome parts among the general awesomeness of Yowa that I can’t wait to get to).
